Food-borne risks during an unexpected pregnancy

Pregnant women should avoid eating raw or undercoked meats, poultry and eggs because they can increase their risk in getting a food born illness.

A pregnant woman could pass some of the illnesses along to their unborn baby.  Some affected babies develop vision and hearing loss, mental retardation, seizures and other problems.

Pregnant women should avoid foods made with partially cooked eggs, like egg nog, hollandaise sauce and ceser salid dressing.
