14 and pregnant adoption

Q: How can adoption be a good thing when I will be losing a child?
A: If you are not ready to be a parent, placing a child for adoption is a great solution. Abortion is not giving a child a chance at life, adoption not only gives life to a child, but also allows the child to have a wonderful life with a loving family.

Q: How much will adoption cost me?
A: Adoption is free to the birth family. The adoptive family pays for the counseling you will receive and the legal aspects of the adoption.

Q: Who will be the parents of my child, if I choose adoption for him or her?
A. When birth parents work with Christian Child Placement Service, they may choose the adoptive parents for their child, by looking at our books of families. All of our adoptive parents are Christians.

Q: Will I ever know how my baby is doing after birth?
A: Continued contact is available, depending on the birth family's wishes. Many birth families receive pictures and letters from the adoptive families as the child grows.

Q: How much will the child know about me?
A: In New Mexico, the adoptive parents must have a complete medical background on the child and the birth parents. The birth parents may choose what other information they would like the child to have.

Q: What rights does the birth father have?
A: Both birth parents have rights in New Mexico. If you disagree about adoption or you no longer have a relationship with each other, the agency will work with the birth father to terminate his rights, or work with the courts to determine if his rights can be terminated.

Q: Where do I live while I am pregnant?
A: Christian Child Placement Service will be able to help you complete an adoption plan in your own home, or you may want to choose to move to our on campus housing.

Q: How can I be sure my child will not be neglected or abused?
A: All adoptive families are inspected to ensure they meet the standards of the agency, the birth parents and the law, through references, criminal backgrounds and a home investigation by the agency.

If you are thinking about adoption and want the security and protection of working with an adoption agency contact us we will support you during this time, and will help you make a tailor-made adoption plan.
