New Mexico Adption Bill HB125 (Adoption Services) Passed the House

HB125 (Adoption Services) passed the House yesterday, 65 for 1 against 3 absent/excused) after a long wait and delays.

HB158 (Adoption adverrtising) will be voted on Monday early in the day as it is at the top of Monday's agenda. I am very confident HB125 will pass very easily thanks to all your hard work. HB158 is a much less complicated bill and has a lot of support thanks to your emails and phone calls.

Sometime next week these two bills will be assigned to one or two committees in the Senate and we can start contacting the committee members and Senators. We will have a little lag time on this because the bills that started in the House can't cross over to the Senate until the Senate has processed all it's bills.Once the Senate finishes it's bills their bills will pass over to the House. Representative Park did a great job presenting them in committees and before the House.

We have a good chance of passing these bills because Representative Park got them rolling early and because of his leadership skills and positive relationships in the House and the Senate.
